For me it’s for sure older….. I have a handful of friends that are my peers and I’ve been friends with them since school (elementary, junior high and high school). I suppose you could say I have one younger friend – that is if you count my baby sister – even then she’s less than a year younger than me so I suppose she would be more in the peer category.
Other than that every other single person I consider a friend is older than me – without exception…..
Ohhhh – back that train up – Hubby and I have a “couple friendship” the wife is younger than me – and I did not meet them in high school, so yes there is one exception…..
A handful are only a few years older – many are in their mid forties and a couple are in their fifties….
I wonder why this is??? I am not against being friends with my peers or folks younger than me. In fact age has nothing to do with why I choose a friend – in fact there is no rhyme or reason to why my friends are my friends….. If there is a connection, there is a connection – period…..
I guess my life illustrates that I connect with folks older than me…
So – How old are your friends???? Why do you think you are attracted to who you are attracted to???
My friends are genrally the same age as me...a few a within a few years younger than me, few within a few years older. I get along with other age groups fine but my close friends are in general age range. I think it's because we are more or less the same places in our lives and that's what attracts me to them in part but mostly it's because of what each of them bring to my life...you know-their personalities. If it's a match and they are 10 years older-it wouldn't matter to me!
ReplyDeleteSome of mine are younger. Some are older. I don't pick my friends so to speak. I just click with some people. I'm actually fairly antisocial

most are my peers, tho I have a couple older 10yrs or so and a couple younger about 10yrs....long as the ppl are good then its all good
ReplyDeleteI have friends that are younger by 10 or more years and friends that has much as 20 years older. Always seemed to have both ends of the spectrum, but I also have a few friends who are peers. I think God brings who I need at the time into my life and once I've become friends it usually lasts.
